Mirantis, the cloud-native development company, is monetizing its Lens Kubernetes Integrated Development Environment with its new Lens 6 version.
The revised Lens Terms of Service Agreement is part of the new Lens subscription model, according to a blog post by Miska Kaipiainen, vice president of product engineering at Mirantis. This applies to all services related to the use of Lens Desktop.
The Lens Desktop Kube feature, according to Mirantis, may instantly spin up a local Minikube programming environment. A local virtual machine hosts the Kubernetes cluster with a single node (VM). In a press statement, Kaipiainen stated that Lens offers developers and DevOps professionals a solitary platform to create and manage their workloads and environments.
