Diagrid’s Catalyst Simplifies Developing and Running Microservices Beyond Kubernetes

Diagrid, provider of tools and services to build secure, reliable, and portable applications using open source Dapr, announced the public beta of Catalyst, which extends open source Dapr beyond Kubernetes to include major cloud compute platforms – making it easier to create microservice applications.

Complexity is ranked as the second biggest challenge that cloud-native developers face, with millions of developers now leveraging serverless and container technologies, according to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). However, building microservice applications remains limited on most platforms without investment in: developing repetitive boilerplate code; reinventing software patterns; having confidence that applications are reliable and secure; ensuring operational insights.

Catalyst, a fully-managed Dapr service, addresses these issues with cloud-hosted APIs that meet the needs of modern developers. With the increasing adoption of Dapr, Diagrid also reported a 100% increase in its annual revenue from Q2 to Q3 2024, fueled by the acquisition of new enterprise customers including HDFC Bank, HSBC, Prudential, and growing adoption of its Dapr for Kubernetes platform.

Dapr handles the complexities of communication and authentication, enabling Grafana to develop faster. The reliability of scanning improved significantly with Dapr helping to ensure there are no missing image scans.
