Google Plans to Invest USD 1 Billion in the Thai Data Center

Google announced a massive USD 1 billion investment in Thailand to develop a data center and cloud region, aiming to support the country’s growing demand for cloud services and AI technologies. The project is expected to create around 14,000 jobs annually until 2029, according to a Deloitte study.

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra welcomed the move, calling it a perfect alignment with Thailand’s Cloud First Policy, emphasizing the benefits this investment will bring to both businesses and the public. The new data center in Chonburi and Google’s cloud region in Bangkok will serve as pivotal infrastructure for the region’s digital future.
