Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. is ramping up its server capacity to meet the soaring demand for Nvidia’s advanced AI chips. Chairman Young Liu described the appetite for the new Blackwell chips as “crazy,” mirroring Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s earlier sentiments. Speaking at a tech event in Taipei, Liu revealed plans for the world’s largest server assembly plant in Mexico, aiming to produce 20,000 GB200 NVL 72 servers by 2025.

Despite the enthusiasm, Liu acknowledged a “hiccup” in production, noting delays in the Blackwell chip supply. Shipments, initially expected for early fall, are now anticipated in late December. Nevertheless, Nvidia’s Chief Financial Officer, Colette Kress, remains optimistic, forecasting substantial shipments of Blackwell chips in the upcoming quarter. This scenario highlights the relentless growth of AI, surprising even industry leaders with its pace and scale.
