Amazon to Discontinue Its Amazon Drive Cloud Storage Platform

Amazon.com Inc. has notified customers that its Amazon Drive cloud-based file storage will be shut down at the end of next year. Amazon plans to discontinue the service gradually.

The business has, as a first step, synchronized the photographs and videos uploaded by Amazon Drive users with Amazon Photos, another consumer-facing file storage service. The action will guarantee that users’ files can still be accessed when Amazon Drive is shut off. Amazon will stop allowing users to add new files to Amazon Drive via the service’s website on January 31, 2023.

Users will still be able to access older files till December 31, 2023. The business intends to shut down the service on that day.
