Amphenol

Amphenol Corporation has reached a definitive agreement to acquire CommScope’s Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) business for $10.5 billion in cash.

The development will significantly expand Amphenol’s product capabilities in the rapidly growing IT and data center markets, especially in fiber optic interconnect products for artificial intelligence applications, while diversifying its interconnect solutions.

The acquisition of CommScope’s CCS business will give Amphenol control of three distinct units: Data Center Connectivity Solutions, Broadband Communications, and Building Connectivity Solutions. These units offer fiber optic and other interconnect products for data centers, communications networks, and industrial applications.

The CCS business is projected to have sales of about $3.6 billion and EBITDA margins of 26% this year, and the deal is expected to boost Amphenol’s earnings per share in the first full year after closing.

The company intends to finance the acquisition through a combination of cash on hand and debt, and has obtained committed financing from J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, BNP Paribas and Mizuho Bank, Ltd. to fund the transaction.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026.
