Anaconda, Inc., a leading provider of open-source tools for enterprise AI development, has raised over $150 million in a Series C funding round led by Insight Partners, with participation from Mubadala Capital. The Austin-based company, known for its widely adopted Python distribution, now boasts over $150 million in annual recurring revenue as of July 2025 and remains profitable.
This funding milestone follows the launch of Anaconda’s AI Platform and its recent strategic partnership with Databricks. Since its founding in 2012, Anaconda has become the go-to platform for data scientists and developers, supporting more than 50 million users and 21 billion package downloads. Today, it serves 95% of Fortune 500 companies and over 10,000 major enterprises worldwide.
The investment arrives at a pivotal moment as organizations transition from siloed data science efforts to building compound AI systems. The capital will fuel product innovation, support global expansion, enable strategic acquisitions, and provide liquidity opportunities for employees.
“As agents and compound AI systems gain traction, companies need a foundational platform to effectively manage key open source artifacts and components to drive fast, scalable innovation,” said George Mathew, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “Anaconda takes this a step further by layering simplicity and security to AI in enterprise landscapes.”

To support its broader vision, Anaconda has strengthened its leadership team with new appointments: Laura Sellers as Chief Product and Technology Officer, Jane Kim as Chief Commercial Officer, and Barry Russell as SVP of Partnerships. These seasoned executives bring a wealth of experience in scaling enterprise technologies and driving growth.
Sellers commented, “Anaconda is uniquely positioned in the AI market, providing proven, curated, and verified packages that accelerate deployments with confidence. I’m eager to expand on the great work the team has already done to extend the power of Python, foster community, and offer the choice and customization that individual and enterprise users need to build and scale data science, machine learning, and AI projects.”
With Python now the world’s most adopted programming language, Anaconda’s platform offers secure, streamlined access to packages, environments, and tools essential to enterprise AI initiatives. Looking ahead, the company aims to evolve into a comprehensive model hub where organizations can manage every layer of AI development—from datasets and models to libraries and dependencies—optimized for Python workflows.
