AWS Announces Plans to Help Customers Optimize Cloud Spend

During the business’s FY22 Q2 results call on Thursday, SVP and CFO Brian Olsavsky stated the company expects sustainable growth for AWS, its market-leading cloud services segment, as the economy weakens.

Olsavsky claimed that cloud computing can save capital expenditures for corporate operations and data center build-outs in his presentation to clients to promote cloud migrations. Cloud computing “truly displays its usefulness when you’re attempting to launch a new product or service,” the speaker claimed.

However, AWS does not discount potential consumer costs. Similar to the 2020 slowdown, Olsavsky said AWS is ready to support clients in cost optimization and scaling down, as needed.
