Citrix and NVIDIA Partner to Deliver AI Virtual Workstations, Enhancing Secure AI Application Development

Citrix, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, Inc., has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to introduce AI virtual workstations powered by NVIDIA Virtual GPU (vGPU). This partnership aims to empower enterprises to develop and prototype AI applications with enhanced security, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Developing AI applications can be resource-intensive, requiring significant investments in infrastructure, security, and compliance—especially for highly regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, and government. By integrating Citrix DaaS™ with the NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation, businesses can securely build and deploy AI proofs of concept (POCs) and applications within their existing IT environments. This minimizes the risk of proprietary information exposure to public large language models (LLMs) while optimizing costs by leveraging existing GPU investments.

“Many enterprises are prototyping dozens of AI applications, yet concerns about data security and cost are keeping them from finishing POCs and moving them into production,” said Sridhar Mullapudi, co-president at Citrix. “Thousands of Citrix customers already run DaaS/CVAD on servers with NVIDIA GPUs, and this partnership allows them to leverage their existing Citrix environments to more securely and cost-effectively prototype, POC and roll out their AI applications with NVIDIA GPUs.”

Through the integration of NVIDIA AI Virtual Workstation with Citrix DaaS, customers can:

  • Ensure their data and proprietary information remain secure, mitigating the risk of leaks into public LLMs.
  • Develop, prototype, and test AI applications more cost-effectively by utilizing GPUs already deployed within their Citrix environment. This approach accelerates AI delivery timelines while reducing overall costs.
  • Provide users with a secure environment to interact with production AI applications via DaaS or Citrix Enterprise Browser™.

“Pairing Citrix DaaS with NVIDIA AI Virtual Workstation allows enterprises to develop AI applications within their existing infrastructure,” said Bob Pette, vice president of Enterprise Platforms at NVIDIA. “It opens the doors to more AI use cases for our joint customers, driving multiple improvements in security, productivity and efficiency for businesses.”

Citrix DaaS delivers comprehensive app and desktop virtualization, allowing IT teams to manage on-premises or cloud-hosted virtual machines while ensuring secure access from any device. Users can seamlessly run applications and desktops independent of their device’s operating system, while Citrix handles installation, setup, and upgrades. This gives businesses full control over applications, policies, and user management while ensuring an optimal experience on any device.

NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation software, combined with NVIDIA’s industry-leading GPUs, accelerates graphics-intensive workloads, including engineering, data science, and AI development. By enabling secure, high-performance computing from the data center or cloud, creators, engineers, and developers can access powerful applications from anywhere, achieving workstation-level performance while maintaining enterprise-grade security.
