DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc., the leading provider of simple, scalable cloud solutions for digital-native businesses, has announced the general availability of its DigitalOcean GradientAI™ Platform. Previously known as the GenAI Platform, GradientAI is a fully managed service designed to help developers integrate powerful generative AI capabilities into their applications—without the complexity of managing infrastructure.
Built for developers who want to add AI-driven features fast, GradientAI lets users combine their own data with state-of-the-art foundation models from providers such as Anthropic, Meta, Mistral, and OpenAI. The platform’s intuitive UI consolidates tools, storage, functions, and databases in one place, all running on DigitalOcean’s GPU-powered cloud—giving teams everything they need to build custom AI agents that enhance user experiences or cut costs.
The platform supports retrieval augmented generation (RAG) so teams can quickly deploy generative AI agents. These agents can interact with third-party APIs through function routing and connect with other GenAI agents for more complex workflows. With Serverless LLM Inference, developers can run models from multiple providers via a single API, benefitting from usage-based billing and eliminating the need to manage servers.

Key features include customizable guardrails to protect sensitive data and ensure output remains appropriate, as well as built-in tools to evaluate and monitor performance improvements over time.
“We built DigitalOcean GradientAI because generative AI can be complex — and DigitalOcean has always focused on making the complex simple,” said Bratin Saha, Chief Product and Technology Officer at DigitalOcean. “With DigitalOcean GradientAI, we are lowering the barrier for developers and teams to build AI agents, all while keeping the developer experience front and center.”
Aaron Kettl, founder of Quikest, added, “The future of business is human-led and agent-operated. Humans articulate goals, and fleets of autonomous agents can execute on those goals. With the DigitalOcean GradientAI Platform, I can easily set up all my agents and integrate them into my product with very little code, and I can upgrade and switch models anytime, so my product gets better every time a new model rolls out.”
With GradientAI now generally available, DigitalOcean aims to empower digital-native businesses to bring AI-enhanced experiences to market faster, while maintaining the simplicity the company is known for.
