Google is investing $9 billion by 2027 to build out its AI infrastructure in South Carolina, including upping the capacity of the Berkeley County data center campus and building two new facilities in Dorchester County, making the state a key location for U.S. digital infrastructure. To complement this investment, Google is also empowering workforce development by providing a Google.org grant to the Electrical Training Alliance (etA) that will allow for the embedding of AI tools in training programs and preparing more than 160 apprentices for jobs in the state’s expanding tech and energy industries.
