Imply Unveils Lumi: The First Observability Warehouse to Cut Costs and Accelerate Data Insights

Imply

Imply, the company founded by the original creators of Apache Druid®, has launched Imply Lumi, the industry’s first Observability Warehouse. Designed as a high-performance, cost-efficient data layer, Lumi integrates directly into existing observability stacks—enabling teams to scale data retention, accelerate investigations, and reduce costs without replacing familiar tools.

Observability and security teams are increasingly challenged by the growing volume of telemetry data, siloed vendor ecosystems, and mounting infrastructure costs. Imply Lumi addresses this by decoupling the observability stack, giving organizations greater flexibility to choose best-of-breed tools for each layer.

“Decoupling the observability stack gives teams the freedom to do more while spending less,” said Fangjin Yang, CEO and co-founder of Imply. “Just as decoupling transformed business intelligence, Imply Lumi brings that same flexibility and control to observability — without requiring teams to abandon the tools they already rely on.”

At launch, Lumi includes native integrations with Splunk, Grafana Labs, Tableau, and AI assistants such as Claude and LangChain. This enables organizations to extend observability data across dashboards and AI-driven workflows, boosting both visibility and operational intelligence.

“We’ve proven that Imply Lumi can take log data, optimize it for faster searches, and store it more efficiently than traditional formats — and that has our partners and early adopters excited,” said Eric Tschetter, Chief Architect at Imply. “With these innovations, teams can keep all their logs in a format that works seamlessly with Splunk, combining efficiency, speed, and compatibility in one solution.”

As a recognized member of the Splunk Partnerverse, Imply is working with Splunk’s technology and services ecosystem to extend the value of Splunk deployments. By pairing Lumi with Splunk, customers gain scalable, high-performance observability without compromising their existing investments.
