KnowBe4 Launches Deepfake Training to Protect Organizations from AI-Powered Threats

KnowBe4

KnowBe4, a global leader in human and agentic AI risk management, has unveiled a new custom deepfake training program designed to help organizations defend against sophisticated AI-powered social engineering attacks, including fraudulent video conferences and AI-generated phishing. Deepfakes are increasingly exploited for fraud, disinformation, and reputational damage, with one in five biometric fraud attempts now linked to such attacks and a 40% year-over-year rise in injection attacks, according to Entrust’s 2026 Identity Fraud Report. “Deepfakes represent a seismic shift in the threat landscape, weaponizing AI to impersonate authority, exploit trust, and short-circuit the human decision-making process,” said Perry Carpenter, chief human risk management strategist at KnowBe4.

The training provides realistic simulations approved by administrators. Employees can spot narrative red flags, subtle inconsistencies, and cues from manipulated media in a safe setting. Early adopters praised the program for its real-world examples. They noted it helps executives and employees recognize and tackle deepfake threats. Awareness and preparedness are key defenses against new AI risks.
