The conference marks Microsoft’s first significant step to overcome the concerns that impacted almost 8.5 million Windows devices on July 19. This global IT outage disrupted operations of various industries that range from major airlines to banks, and health care. The summit was hosted at the headquarters of Microsoft in Redmond, Washington. The IT outage in July highlighted concerns that many organizations are not well-prepared to execute a contingency plan when one point of failure like an IT system or software in the IT infrastructure faces a downtime.
