Okta Introduces Blueprint for Securing the Agentic Enterprise

Okta

Okta has unveiled a new blueprint for securing the emerging “agentic enterprise,” alongside the launch of Okta for AI Agents, a platform designed to help organizations manage the growing complexity and risks associated with AI agents. The framework addresses three key questions-visibility, access, and control-enabling enterprises to discover both sanctioned and “shadow” agents, govern their interactions, and revoke access instantly in case of malicious or rogue behavior. As AI agents become more autonomous and capable of executing complex workflows, traditional identity and security models are proving inadequate, with many organizations still failing to treat agents as identity-bearing entities.

“AI agents are evolving faster than any software before them, making traditional security models obsolete. Speed is now a given, but security is the differentiator,” said Ric Smith, President of Products & Technology, Okta. “With this new blueprint, Okta is establishing the industry standard for the secure agentic enterprise. We enable companies to discover shadow agents, secure connection points, and maintain the ultimate ‘kill switch’ to protect their enterprise from evolving risks.” The solution integrates with leading platforms and extends Okta’s ecosystem to provide centralized visibility, governance, and scalable security for AI-driven operations.
