Serval Raises $47M Series A to Accelerate AI for IT Automation

Serval’s $47M Series A, led by Redpoint Ventures with participation from First Round Capital, General Catalyst, Box Group, Bessemer Venture Partner, Chemistry, and others. This brings our total funding to $52M.

Serval is the AI platform for IT teams, and our mission is to unlock meaningful work for all employees. We help everyone get out of the help desk and back to the work they enjoy.

IT teams power the workplace, and they’ve spent the past couple years helping organizations bring in powerful new AI tools. But they still work out of legacy platforms that seem increasingly out of touch with the modern tech stack – absurdly filing manual tickets to manage access to AI agents.

When IT slows down, everyone suffers. Employees are blocked waiting on support, onboarding is painful, and security initiatives are put on the back burner.

Serval changes that with AI agents that help IT build and deploy automations from natural language prompts.

It’s been incredible to watch the Serval community grow so quickly. In just over a year since founding:

▪️ Innovative companies like Perplexity, Clay, Verkada, Mercor, Cribl, and Together AI are transforming their IT and security operations with Serval.

▪️ Customers are seeing over 50%+ of ALL IT tickets automated. Not just help desk requests, but just-in-time access, onboarding, offboarding, reporting, and so much more.

▪️ Our users are surprising us every day with use cases we’ve never even considered, using Serval to build automations for complicated workflows across IT, security, engineering, HR, finance, and operations.

Vernon Man, head of IT at Perplexity, migrated to Serval from a legacy solution this year.

“With Serval, we’ve automated more than half of our IT tickets, including fully automating onboarding and offboarding across our core tools. What used to take me hours, now happens instantly. It’s completely changed how IT works at Perplexity.”

“Serval acts as an extension of the security team,” added Kyle Polley, who leads Security. “It helps us enforce the principle of least privilege by automatically working with employees to identify the minimum level of access needed and granting it only for the required duration.”
