Startup Sync Computing Raises USD 15.5M for Cloud Optimization

Sync Computing Corp., a startup helping enterprises increase the efficiency of their cloud-based data analytics environments, has announced that it has closed a USD 15.5 million funding round. Costanoa Ventures took the lead in the Series A round.

There were also numerous previous backers and angel investors. The company has raised a total of USD 22.9 million, according to Crunchbase. Sync Computing offers a platform called Autotuner that aids businesses in streamlining their Apache Spark deployments in the cloud.

According to the company, Spark is a data processing engine that is widely used in the enterprise to power analytics initiatives and is available under an open-source license.
