TeamViewer Unveils Agentless Access to Strengthen Security and Simplify Industrial Remote Operations

TeamViewer

TeamViewer, a leading global provider of digital workspace solutions, has announced Agentless Access—a game-changing feature of its enterprise platform, TeamViewer Tensor—that is positioned to greatly simplify and secure remote operations in industrial environments. Unveiled at the Gartner IT Symposium in Barcelona, this new capability provides manufacturers and OEMs with the ability to remotely manage machinery and OT systems without placing software on every device, increasing cybersecurity, compliance, and operational efficiency.

With Tensor now fully optimized for OT and industrial use cases, organizations such as Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH are already using it to remotely program PLCs and automate machines. Agentless Access further extends these advantages by allowing centralized management and simplified configuration of OT endpoints, such as HMIs, legacy systems, and closed devices, without any local software deployment.

Paired with Tensor’s Hybrid Conditional Access, the functionality ensures secure, flexible connectivity across segmented networks to help manufacturers improve maintenance workflows and reduce downtime. Smart, connected factories bring with them growing cybersecurity risks. Agentless Access mitigates this by offering direct access to PLCs and HMIs for maintenance or troubleshooting without manipulating device software and enforces zero-trust principles, granular access controls, and detailed audit logs.

“IT and OT have different goals, but they share the same challenge: keeping operations secure and running,” said Caroline Hempfing, Director of Product Management at TeamViewer. “Agentless Access bridges that gap. It gives manufacturers a reliable way to connect to critical systems remotely without compromising compliance or security-a must in today’s connected production landscape.”

TeamViewer will be exhibiting Agentless Access, among other innovations in secure remote operations, at Smart Remote Service in Berlin and at Microsoft Ignite in San Francisco, demonstrating its commitment to the advancement of industrial cybersecurity and operational resilience.
