Thrive, a global managed services and cybersecurity leader, has announced its acquisition of Abacode, a Tampa-based Managed Cybersecurity & Compliance Provider (MCCP). The deal deepens Thrive’s expertise in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and expands its reach in the Southeastern U.S.
Abacode is recognized for its holistic, outcome-focused cybersecurity and compliance programs that help businesses manage risk and turn regulatory requirements into competitive advantages. The acquisition aligns with Thrive’s strategy to deliver robust, streamlined IT and security services that simplify complex compliance challenges for mid-market organizations.
As businesses face increasingly complex regulatory landscapes—ranging from CMMC updates to new AI legislation and evolving standards like HIPAA—Thrive aims to be a trusted partner for companies that need scalable, strategic solutions. By bringing Abacode’s integrated approach under its umbrella, Thrive will offer clients a single, comprehensive program that unifies cybersecurity and compliance efforts.

“Compliance is a hurdle for many small and mid-sized enterprises because they simply don’t have the time or resources to keep up with every change that could impact their business,” said Bill McLaughlin, CEO of Thrive. “Abacode’s leadership and MCCP model are a perfect fit for our client-first approach. Together, we’re well-positioned to help organizations navigate stricter cybersecurity regulations.”
The Abacode acquisition marks Thrive’s second deal of 2025 and reinforces its growing focus on compliance services. Thrive recently launched its Compliance Center, providing resources and expertise to help mid-market companies in the U.S., U.K., and Canada meet a range of regulatory demands across industries like finance, healthcare, and government.
“Joining Thrive gives us the scale and infrastructure to deliver even more measurable outcomes through cybersecurity and compliance,” said Michael Ferris, CEO of Abacode. “We’re excited to contribute to Thrive’s reputation for high-touch service and global support, and to bring even greater value to our clients as part of the Thrive family.”
