Variscite and Check Point Partner to Boost IoT Device Security

Variscite, a global leader in System on Module (SoM) design and manufacturing, has announced a strategic partnership with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., a pioneer in cybersecurity solutions. This collaboration aims to significantly bolster IoT and embedded device security, protecting against sophisticated cyber threats.

Check Point’s Quantum IoT Protect, powered by the Nano Agent, offers advanced device-level security, reinforcing built-in firmware protections. It safeguards against unauthorized access, secures logins, protects user data and privacy, and strengthens workload security and system hardening. The Nano Agent is designed to combat an array of cyber threats, including denial-of-service attacks, malware, botnets, exploits, and both known and zero-day vulnerabilities.

Through this partnership, Variscite customers can integrate Check Point’s Nano Agent across its entire SoM portfolio, enhancing the company’s existing security measures and extending comprehensive cyber protection to their devices. The lightweight software requires minimal storage, memory, and CPU resources, making it easy to deploy on Variscite’s software platform without modifying existing drivers.

Additionally, the Nano Agent helps device manufacturers comply with the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which mandates stringent security measures for connected devices to safeguard consumers, businesses, and critical infrastructure.

“IoT and edge devices are inherently vulnerable, often left unpatched or outdated by end users, making them prime targets for cybercriminals,” said Miri Ofir, R&D Director at Check Point. “By integrating the Nano Agent into their Variscite-based designs, developers can seamlessly secure the device, application, and data from the design stage while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity regulations. The Nano Agent reduces the need for frequent patching by employing advanced protection and mitigation techniques to proactively block attacks.”

“This partnership gives Variscite customers trusted, proven security solutions from one of the world’s leading cybersecurity companies, ease of integration, and ease of management,” said Ofer Austerlitz, VP Business Development and Sales for Variscite. “This collaboration benefits organizations worldwide who wish to ensure their products meet existing and future security regulations, such as the coming CRA in the EU.”

By integrating Check Point’s Nano Agent, Variscite further strengthens its commitment to delivering secure and reliable embedded solutions, empowering developers to build safer, compliant, and more resilient IoT devices.
