WRITER, the leader in agentic AI for the enterprise, unveiled WRITER Action Agent, a powerful new super agent that puts cutting-edge action capabilities, computer use, and deep research into the hands of hundreds of the world’s largest companies. The autonomous agent seamlessly executes complex knowledge work from start to finish, navigating a broad range of tools and systems with enterprise-grade control, transparency, and governance.
“With the launch of Action Agent, WRITER is taking a significant step toward AGI in the enterprise,” said May Habib, CEO and Co-founder, WRITER. “Other AI chatbots can tell you what to do. Action Agent does it. It’s the difference between getting a research report and having your entire sales pipeline updated and acted upon. We believe it will transform the fabric of how our enterprise customers operate.”
WRITER Action Agent is designed to give individuals a trusted partner to accomplish complex, strategic projects with creativity, nuance, and precision. It’s currently available in beta alongside WRITER’s library of hundreds of agents built for highly-repeatable team workflows. The super agent is the latest addition to WRITER’s end-to-end agent platform, which features collaborative tools for building, activating, and supervising AI agents at scale.
Powered by an updated version of WRITER’s flagship adaptive reasoning LLM Palmyra X5, Action Agent scored a chart-topping 61% on GAIA Level 3, the benchmark that evaluates AI agent performance across complex tasks, outperforming Manus, OpenAI Deep Research, and others. Action Agent also outperforms all computer use agents on the CUB leaderboard, a first-of-its-kind benchmark for computer use and browser use agents, with an overall score of 10.4%.
Unmatched autonomy and multi-tool use, with 600+ planned connectors
Action Agent can deftly execute an enormous range of tasks that require deep problem solving and multi-tool use. Using its own fully isolated virtual computer for every session, Action Agent:
- Independently browses and interacts with web pages, connects to specialized data providers, builds and deploys software, solves technical problems, performs system operations, and executes complex tasks end to end
- Creates and independently executes multi-step plans, with a powerful ability to adapt and self-correct
- Manages multiple tasks simultaneously, and continues to work asynchronously even after you’ve closed the tab or shut your laptop
- Generates images, data visualizations, and structured files such as Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, and PDF
- Provides enterprises with a complete, searchable audit trail and the ability to monitor and track the agent’s plan, progress, actions, and thought processes

For example, when it’s asked to run a product analysis, Action Agent will embark on a multi-step plan to process thousands of customer reviews from across the web, perform a sentiment analysis to understand public perception, identify key recurring themes, and generate a presentation with key findings. If any step fails, it can analyze the error, formulate a new plan to fix it, update its plan, and continue to execute, all while maintaining the context of the original goal.
In the coming weeks, customers will be able to expand Action Agent’s knowledge and capabilities by securely connecting to 80 enterprise platforms and third-party data platforms such as PitchBook and FactSet, enabling access to 600+ agent tools. Through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateway, these connectors allow Action Agent to not only read data, but also write, update, and trigger high-value workflows across these systems.
Notably, WRITER’s agent supervision dashboard will give admins, users, and builders full visibility and control over how agents access knowledge and perform actions. IT administrators will have fine grained oversight over tool configuration and permissions, as well as visibility into tool use at a user- and agent-level throughout their organization.
