1Password has launched 1Password Privileged Access, adding Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities to the Unified Access Platform of the company to provide organizations with just-in-time and just-enough access to their infrastructure with zero standing privileges. To solve the emerging security issues related to persistent permissions in cloud environments, databases, Kubernetes, and AI-powered workflows, 1Password provides access to resources only if it is needed. Based on Apono technology that 1Password has purchased in June 2026, the platform can provision permissions directly from native policy layers without changing existing infrastructure tools. Also, with 1Password Privileged Access, it will now be possible to detect excess permissions, incorporate risk-based approvals and have audit logging to meet requirements such as SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and GDPR. On the other hand, 1Password has also announced the availability of 1Password Credential Broker for GitHub Actions publicly.

“Most organizations have more standing access in their environments than they can see or justify,” said David Faugno, CEO of 1Password. “That invisible access creates exposure, and too often, companies discover it only after an attacker does.
