Microsoft Begins Rolling Out “Outlook Lite,” Optimized for Low-End Devices

Microsoft has launched Outlook Lite in a variety of countries. The app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store.

The Android application is designed to function on devices with less RAM. This week, the application will be available for free download in a handful of countries. Outlook Lite provides the core features of Microsoft Outlook in a smaller, faster app for lightweight devices on any network, including 2G and 3G, according to Microsoft representatives this week.

Currently, Outlook Lite is compatible with Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, MSN, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange Online accounts. Outlook Lite lacks Android Work Profile and Mobile Application Management (MAM) support for work accounts.
