iMerit Launches Scholars: Exclusive Global Network of Experts to Advance Generative AI Training

iMerit

iMerit, a leader in AI data solutions, has unveiled its Scholars program: an invite-only global network of expert cognitive specialists dedicated to advancing Generative AI and AGI systems with secure, high-quality training.

Scholars brings together PhDs, MDs, lawyers, linguists, and engineers from around the world to deliver expert-led data that helps fine-tune AI models for complex, specialized tasks. This launch addresses the growing need for human oversight and domain-specific inputs as enterprises and labs push AI systems beyond generic outputs.

“Foundation models and their applications are moving into a crucial phase where they have to be tuned and validated by extremely clean expert-led data,” said Radha Basu, CEO of iMerit. “Our Scholars team includes PhDs, MDs, lawyers, linguists, and engineers. Their exceptional problem-setting skills directly shape the quality and performance of the models.”

The program is powered by iMerit’s Deep Reasoning Lab within its Ango Hub platform, combining automated pipelines with human-in-the-loop reasoning and iterative corrections at scale. Scholars have already improved AI for tasks like clinical note generation, advanced math problem-solving, and language-vision explanations in autonomous vehicles.

“It’s not just about degrees but about motivation, engagement, and cognitive skills like meta-cognition, critical thinking, and cultural empathy,” added Robert Laing, VP of Global Specialist Workforce at iMerit.

With Scholars, iMerit aims to set a new benchmark for pairing AI with human expertise, ensuring that the next generation of models are not only powerful but trustworthy and deeply specialized.
