NEC Corporation and Red Hat have expanded their global collaboration to advance IT modernization and digital transformation through Red Hat OpenShift, the leading enterprise Kubernetes platform for mission-critical applications. NEC now recognizes OpenShift as its preferred container platform and will leverage it to support offerings in core DX, global 5G, digital finance, and digital government. “Building on a longstanding relationship, the two companies plan to deliver solutions using Red Hat OpenShift to support NEC offerings such as core DX, global 5G, digital finance and digital government to customers globally,” the announcement stated.

Key initiatives include the creation of a joint Center of Excellence with over 100 architects from both companies, designed to provide technical support, best practices, and evaluation environments for customers deploying NEC solutions with OpenShift. Additionally, NEC and Red Hat will enhance joint technology development, including Kubernetes community collaboration and co-located engineering resources, to expand NEC solutions and improve availability and operational continuity for mission-critical applications. These efforts aim to accelerate global market adoption of NEC and Red Hat solutions, enabling enterprises to manage hybrid cloud, multicloud, and edge deployments efficiently while scaling for the future.
