Palo Alto Networks has introduced Cortex® AgentiX™, a next-generation evolution of Cortex XSOAR®, designed to securely build, deploy, and govern AI agents across the enterprise. Developed to counter increasingly fast, AI-driven cyberattacks, AgentiX empowers security operations centers (SOCs) with prebuilt agents capable of planning, reasoning, and executing responses like human experts-achieving up to 98% reduction in mean time to response (MTTR) and 75% less manual work. “Unleashing autonomous agents without tight control is a recipe for disaster. That’s why we built AgentiX on our proven Cortex platform, delivering the full power of agentic AI with the control, traceability and permission management every enterprise demands,” said Gonen Fink, EVP of Products, Cortex, Palo Alto Networks.

Unlike siloed automation tools, AgentiX offers end-to-end workflow autonomy, trained on 1.2 billion real-world playbook executions and integrated with over 1,000 enterprise tools via native Model Context Protocol (MCP) support. Analysts can deploy specialized agents for threat intelligence, email, endpoint, cloud, and network security, or use a no-code builder to create custom agents under strict governance. Francis Odum, Founder of Software Analyst Cyber Research, noted that AgentiX’s foundation on Palo Alto’s mature SecOps framework “ensures agents operate within a fully governed automation framework positioning Palo Alto Networks as the leader in agentic AI.”
