Postman Strengthens Enterprise Capabilities with New Enhancements for AI-Ready API Development

Postman

Postman, the world’s leading API collaboration platform, has announced a series of major enhancements aimed at helping enterprises build, govern, and manage AI-ready APIs with greater security, visibility, and automation. The updates are designed to ensure that APIs, the backbone of AI systems, meet stringent enterprise standards for trust and reliability.

As organizations accelerate AI adoption, the shift from traditional applications to AI-driven agents has revealed a growing challenge: these agents depend entirely on the APIs that supply their intelligence. However, according to Postman’s 2025 State of the API Report, fewer than 40% of enterprises have centralized governance in place, and inconsistent documentation continues to limit how effectively AI systems can interpret APIs.

“We’ve reached a pivotal moment in the AI transition,” said Balaji Raghavan, Head of Engineering at Postman. “Enterprises are realizing that their APIs are not yet AI-ready. Today’s updates establish the governance, automation, and observability needed to make APIs safe, reliable, and discoverable by both humans and AI systems, without slowing down developer velocity.”

The new updates include:

Spec Hub – Expands Postman’s governance framework with bidirectional specification syncing, modular multi-file support, and advanced reporting tools, enabling large teams to enforce consistent API design and compliance across their ecosystems.

Pipeline-Native Validation – Through Private API Runners (Early Access) and On-Demand Monitors, teams can now validate APIs in real-world deployment conditions, with Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations for instant test feedback and improved reliability.

Unified Visibility and Control – The new Runner Management dashboard provides enterprise administrators with comprehensive insights into automation, performance, and access control.

Developer Velocity Enhancements – Upgrades to the Postman CLI, a better Home interface, and a new Collection Status Indicator make workflows smoother. These changes lower friction in design, testing, and deployment.

With these updates, Postman aims to be the enterprise control plane for the modern API ecosystem. It connects humans and AI. It focuses on governance, safety, and speed in digital innovation.
