Cognizant Strengthens Azure and Enterprise AI Leadership with Acquisition of 3Cloud

Cognizant has announced a definitive agreement to acquire 3Cloud, one of the largest independent Microsoft Azure services providers, in a move that significantly accelerates its enterprise AI and cloud transformation strategy. The acquisition will combine 3Cloud’s deep expertise in Azure, data and AI, modern app innovation, and cloud engineering with Cognizant’s global delivery scale, industry-focused solutions, and technology frameworks. Together, the companies will form one of the most credentialed Microsoft partners globally, encompassing more than 21,000 Azure-certified specialists and boasting multiple Microsoft Partner of the Year recognitions. 3Cloud, which has delivered 20% organic CAGR since 2020 and continues to see rising demand for Azure-centric transformation, will add over 1,000 Azure experts and 1,500+ Microsoft certifications to Cognizant’s portfolio.

“This acquisition marks a pivotal step in Cognizant’s strategy to empower our clients for the future of enterprise AI,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant. Mike Rocco, CEO of 3Cloud, added that joining Cognizant will “unlock new opportunities for our clients and employees.” Microsoft’s Judson Althoff emphasized that the combined entity will help customers “harness the power of Azure and AI to drive business innovation at scale.” Expected to close in Q1 2026, the acquisition positions Cognizant to deliver end-to-end AI-led transformation and expand its influence across Microsoft’s cloud ecosystem.
