Vodacom Group has announced a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud. This collaboration aims to boost digital transformation and increase AI use across Africa. With Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure, Vodacom will unify its vast data and deploy top generative AI models like Gemini, Veo, and Imagen. This will enhance operational efficiency and introduce next-gen AI services for consumers and businesses. “This collaboration is more than just a tech upgrade; it shows our commitment to Africa’s digital revolution,” said Shameel Joosub, CEO of Vodacom. He highlighted how Google Cloud will help modernize infrastructure and create solutions for the continent’s unique needs. Maureen Costello, Vice President at Google Cloud, stated, “Google Cloud is proud to support Vodacom in speeding up AI in Africa.”
