Palantir Technologies has introduced Chain Reaction, a new operating system designed to accelerate America’s AI infrastructure by addressing the growing bottleneck of power and compute rather than algorithms. As demand for AI workloads surges, Chain Reaction aims to modernize and expand the nation’s energy and compute capacity by helping utilities, energy producers, and data center operators transform aging power assets, stabilize and scale the grid, speed the development of new generation and transmission systems, and streamline the design and reproducibility of hyperscale data centers. The platform launches with founding partners CenterPoint Energy and NVIDIA. “The energy infrastructure buildout is the industrial challenge of our generation. We have spent years quietly deploying systems that keep power plants running and grids reliable.” said Tristan Gruska, Palantir’s Head of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasizing that legacy energy software is inadequate for the scale required.

CenterPoint Energy, which serves about 7 million customers, will expand its existing partnership with Palantir by deploying Chain Reaction to enhance operational visibility and accelerate power availability following its commitment to build the nation’s most resilient coastal grid. Highlighting the region’s surging energy needs, CenterPoint CEO Jason Wells said, “Never before have technology and energy been so intertwined in determining the future course of American innovation, commercial growth, and economic security.”
