SAP to Acquire Reltio to Strengthen AI Enterprise Data Capabilities

SAP SE

SAP SE is planning to acquire Reltio Inc, which is a leading MDM solution company. This acquisition is aimed at helping organizations transform both SAP and non-SAP data into AI-ready assets. However, the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Upon completion, the acquisition is expected to significantly enhance SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC), a cornerstone of SAP’s AI-First and Suite-First strategy. The addition of Reltio will accelerate SAP’s vision of building a fully interoperable enterprise data platform capable of supporting enterprise-wide agentic AI. Customers will benefit from improved tools to unify, cleanse, and harmonize data across diverse systems, enabling more effective and scalable AI adoption.

“Reltio is a natural fit with SAP,” said Muhammad Alam, member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, SAP Product & Engineering. “Acquiring them will further improve our position as a leading business AI provider, combining SAP and non-SAP data to deliver data context that business AI requires. AI cannot reach its full potential when data is fragmented across business units, platforms and domains without connection or context.”

Following the acquisition, SAP plans to integrate Reltio’s capabilities to ensure enterprise data is fully AI-ready. Organizations will gain access to trusted, high-quality data across both SAP and non-SAP environments-empowering solutions like Joule and Joule Agents to deliver faster insights and improved business outcomes.

Reltio’s platform enables end-to-end management and governance of structured and unstructured enterprise data. Its AI-driven entity resolution technology consolidates disparate data into a unified “golden record,” delivering a consistent and reliable view of critical business entities such as customers, products, suppliers, locations, and employees. Built as a cloud-native, AI-first solution, Reltio supports a single source of truth across complex IT ecosystems, improving the accuracy and reliability of AI-driven processes.

“Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for us to accelerate our mission,” Reltio Founder and CEO Manish Sood said. “Enterprise AI needs trusted context that is open and interoperable across the heterogeneous IT landscapes our customers run. This combination accelerates our ability to deliver Reltio as the system of context across SAP and non-SAP environments, while maintaining continuity for our customers and our partner ecosystem.”

The combined solution is going to integrate Reltio’s sophisticated data unification, cleansing features, and agent-driven workflows with SAP Business Suite applications. This integration aims at making data management easier, minimizing integration complexity, and improving decision-making with consistent, top-quality data. Support for low-latency data delivery and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) will also facilitate real-time, multi-agent workflows in enterprise environments.

Furthermore, Reltio’s industry-specific “velocity packs”containing data models, matching rules, and integrations specifically designed for industries like healthcare, life sciences, and financial serviceswill help organizations accelerate deployment and time-to-market.

Within SAP Business Data Cloud, Reltio will be positioned as a key capability and at the same time keep its commercial model flexibility. Customers can choose to implement Reltio as a standalone product or as part of SAP’s wider portfolio, guaranteeing continuity while also providing access to next-generation, AI-ready data management solutions.
