Autodesk, a global leader in design and make technology, announced a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS). Under this deal, they’ll team up to develop advanced cloud-based solutions. These will let customers worldwide design and build stuff more efficiently on a larger scale. So, it’s a big win for those in architecture and industry.
Streamlined Procurement via AWS Marketplace
As a core component of this strategic alliance, Autodesk software solutions will become available for direct purchase through the AWS Marketplace beginning in the second quarter of Autodesk’s current fiscal year. The rollout introduces a frictionless acquisition channel for enterprise AWS customers, launching initially with Autodesk’s flagship cloud platforms: Fusion for Product Design and Fusion Manage.
Buying stuff through the marketplace makes things easier for big businesses. They get to streamline back-office stuff thanks to unified procurement and single billing, which all goes onto their usual AWS invoices. It’s great because the purchases help meet their requirements for the existing AWS Enterprise Discount Program and Private Pricing deals.

In terms of tech progress, Autodesk and AWS teamed up in a pretty cool way. They want to boost their platform innovation, using more than just online shopping links. They’re building a framework to supercharge tech advances by blending their strengths in cloud AI and design software. With this setup, they plan to use AWS’s powerful cloud systems and AI abilities to improve how complex designs and engineering tasks get done.
Tying Autodesk’s top-notch design software with AWS’s cloud structure lets companies revamp old, desktop-limited work processes. This shift to cloud first helps dodge slow local computers, makes data sharing between teams smoother, and speeds up results throughout the project.
“By deepening our collaboration with AWS, we’re taking another major step in helping customers choose how they design and make in the cloud,” said Rachel Tuller, VP of Global Partner Ecosystem Sales at Autodesk. “Together, we can give organizations the flexibility to build, operate, and scale solutions that best meet their business needs while driving greater efficiency and innovation.”
“This collaboration reflects what happens when partners align around customer success,” said Colin Lazier, Vice President, Databases, Amazon Web Services. “By combining Autodesk‘s design and make expertise with AWS’s cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities, we’re helping customers innovate faster, work smarter, and scale with confidence — and we’re just getting started.”
Expanding the Spatial Data Ecosystem
The partnership aims to unlock bigger data synergies between the tech giants’ networks. For example, Matterport, a leading spatial data firm and both an AWS partner and an Autodesk developer, says the new platform will make it easier to deploy digital twins for joint enterprise clients.
“As a customer and partner of both AWS and Autodesk, we see firsthand how this collaboration can benefit organizations like ours,” said Rob Hines, Interim President at Matterport. “Customers using Matterport’s spatial data platform with Autodesk workflows will gain a more unified experience on AWS, and we’re excited about the possibilities that creates for the customers we serve together.”
