Deloitte has launched its Open Model Engineering practice across its global firms, expanding its AI services portfolio as enterprises and governments increasingly explore open AI models for greater deployment flexibility, cost management and model choice. The practice is designed to help organizations design, engineer, deploy and operate AI solutions using open models and full-stack open-source engineering tailored to business needs, regulatory requirements and existing technology environments. “Organizations need flexibility in how they build and use AI. Deloitte’s Open Model Engineering practice helps clients choose the right mix of AI models, cloud services, and on-premises infrastructure for each workload,” Sundhar Sekhar, Chief Services Officer, Deloitte. “This practice can help manage costs, support local requirements, and maintain greater control over data, intellectual property, and AI operations. We pair that flexibility with responsible engineering, strong governance, and a focus on measurable business results.”

The services are initially rolling out across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, addressing priorities including model and architecture selection, token economics, AI sovereignty and control over data and intellectual property. Deloitte will initially focus on enterprise AI applications using NVIDIA Nemotron open models and NIM microservices, while also supporting Sovereign AI stacks, model fine-tuning and cybersecurity applications. “Enterprises need both open and proprietary models for different workloads,” says Kari Briski, vice president of generative AI at NVIDIA. “Deloitte’s Open Model Engineering practice, built on NVIDIA Nemotron models, gives developers greater control over enterprise data and proprietary information while enabling secure, responsible deployment of Agentic AI.”
