Dun & Bradstreet Brings New Business Context to IBM watsonx Orchestrate Through MCP

Dun & Bradstreet

Dun & Bradstreet have stated that the D&B Commercial Graph™ is now available in IBM watsonx Orchestrate Agent Catalog through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Such integration allows businesses to access business identity and corporate relationships in a safe and standardized manner to transition from experimental AI models to agentic workflow in the enterprise world.

With the emergence of more and more complex roles played by autonomous AI agents, there has been a growing necessity to ensure uniform understanding of corporation across different applications, workflows, and cloud environment. With this in mind, the D&B Commercial Graph™ allows solving this problem through providing a secure link between AI agents and verified enterprise identity. Based on the proprietary D-U-N-S® Number, which is the global identifier for a commercial entity, the solution serves as an identity verification layer in the ecosystem of enterprise AI. With the help of such information, AI agents can recognize and reconcile the same business entity in different systems without any need for costly data reconciliation efforts.

“Enterprise AI delivers its greatest value when it is grounded in trusted business data and context. Bringing the D&B Commercial Graph to IBM watsonx Orchestrate reflects where enterprise AI is headed,” said Elizabeth Barrette, General Manager for Master Data Management Solutions at Dun & Bradstreet. “The challenge is that most organizations don’t yet have the solid data foundation they need to get the most out of their AI investments. D&B’s recent AI Momentum survey found just 6% of businesses say their enterprise data is fully ready to support AI at scale. Dun & Bradstreet helps close that gap, providing the foundation of continually verified business information required for reliable, traceable AI-driven decisions at scale.”
