Arcadis has made an announcement on extending its strategic partnership with Autodesk for increasing the pace of incorporating artificial intelligence, connected data platforms, and automated digital workflows into the built and natural world. Arcadis has partnered with Autodesk to utilize their platform in combination with Arcadis’ industry knowledge with a human-in-the-loop approach at the heart of the process execution.

Integrating Enterprise Domain Expertise with AI Platforms
The collaboration connects Arcadis’ engineering, design, and sustainability capabilities with Autodesk’s Design and Make platform and Autodesk AI suite. As part of this integration, Arcadis connects its proprietary Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities directly into Autodesk Assistant-an AI tool built to interpret geometric models, engineering intent, and historical project data.

This interoperability allows Arcadis to embed its own technical standards, institutional knowledge, and compliance rules directly into the software environments where primary design decisions are executed, while maintaining full ownership of its intellectual property.
A major technical achievement resulting from this collaboration is See Through Walls, an integrated project that brings together the power of artificial intelligence, Internet-of-things sensor data, and predictive analytics. This technology assesses the structural state of hidden components of existing structures in order to support material reuse and circular construction efforts.
Practical AI Adoption and Quantifiable Operational Efficiency
Rather than relying on standalone AI generation, the joint framework cross-references AI outputs against real-world project parameters and structural requirements. This approach ensures that digital tools yield verified, practical results across complex infrastructure and building initiatives.
Across existing automation deployments in North America and Europe, Arcadis has already demonstrated measurable delivery improvements. For example, automated quality review workflows have reduced standard review timelines from five days to approximately half a day, releasing engineering capacity and accelerating client delivery schedules.
