Cisco has introduced a suite of agentic collaboration capabilities engineered to redefine how human teams and artificial intelligence agents work together. The solutions are strategically designed to target three key aspects of contemporary businesses, which are modernizing human workflows, transforming the physical environment of the office, and enhancing customer touchpoints.
In contrast to conventional AI assistants, Cisco brings together communication channels, the physical environment of the office, and customer interaction into one operational model. It results in an innovative architecture that transforms the AI assistant from a reactionary tool into a proactive digital teammate.
“The next era of work isn’t about bolting chatbots onto yesterday’s tools,” said Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer, Cisco. “It’s about AI agents working alongside people and teams, being deeply embedded in their workspaces, and collaborating on a secure, trusted foundation. When people and agents share the same context, work keeps moving and every customer relationship gets stronger.”
The Next-Generation Webex: Integrating Proactive AI Teammates
Cisco is improving productivity among enterprises by integrating digital agents directly into day-to-day collaboration within the Webex portfolio. These improvements include:
Claude Managed Agents: Provides a smart teammate that can perform multiple actions through Webex, making use of shared context between different processes to make strategic decisions and coordinate workflows across platforms.

Collaborative Agents Embedment: AI agents can be invited to collaborate directly within Webex spaces, voice and video conferences through @mentions. An example of how this works is having a staff member ask an analytics agent to provide live usage stats and a presentation agent to update a presentation.
OpenAI dots integration: Uses the Webex Suite Model Context Protocol (MCP) to get contextual enterprise information integrated into dots, and also planning to integrate dots into Webex as an ever-present personal assistant.
Enterprise Security and Trust: Integrates identity management, governance and visibility capabilities to create clear organizational boundaries for AI data access and permission.
Transforming the Physical Workspace into an Intelligent Ecosystem
In order to facilitate collaboration scenarios which involve human intervention, critical thinking, and strategic alignment, Cisco is integrating the following components under one architecture that will be controlled by Cisco Cloud Control.
Workplace Designer: Extends visual planning from individual offices to full building floors. IT and facility management teams can convert street addresses into blueprints to deploy networking and AV infrastructure and spatial sensors.
Experience Metrics Integration: Combines network assurance and hardware assurance metrics with floor plans, Wi-Fi heat maps, and real-time occupancy data so that IT departments can solve localized technical issues based on business impact.
Workplace Insights: Collects real-time office space usage data from multiple locations around the world. Helps workplace managers to analyze occupancy trends and make real estate and meeting room investments based on that data.
Next-Generation Collaboration Hardware and Edge AI
In conjunction with these software releases, Cisco unveiled RoomOS 27, the operating system running on Cisco Collaboration Devices, which will be available in November:
Universal Platform Interoperability: Through a new deal with Google, Google Meet now comes natively alongside Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. The platformโs interoperability makes it possible for enterprises to use their favorite meetings platform but still keep the Cisco device management and edge AI capabilities.
Cisco Edge AI Assistant: Provides natural language processing in 32 languages right inside meeting rooms. Environmental cues, like โthe room is too warm,โ can trigger smart building actions to lower the window shades and adjust temperature controls.
Hardware Updates: Cisco announced the Cisco Ceiling Speaker Pro, which is an IP-connected, Ethernet-powered ceiling speaker powered by AI-audio filtering that allows capturing audio evenly throughout a space without multi-vendor hardware setups.
Cisco is thus creating a foundation for a scalable AI-native enterprise collaboration system through secure edge hardware, enterprise software, and multi-agent AI architectures.
