Cognizant Unveils Sovereign Physical AI Platform to Scale Enterprise Autonomous Operations

Cognizant

Cognizant has launched a sovereign Physical AI Platform-as-a-Service will allow businesses to transition autonomous systems beyond proof-of-concept initiatives into an integral part of their operational architecture. Cognizant has developed the Physical AI Platform based on its proprietary Cognizant Intelligence Spine. The platform brings together industrial sensors, Internet of Things gadgets, factory automation systems, energy infrastructure, robotics, cameras, and digital twins into a single framework of intelligence. It enables enterprises to apply Physical AI solutions in different sectors including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, mobility, agriculture, and others. Multimodal AI, which comprises various types of intelligent abilities, including vision, sensing, positioning, and ultra-low latency communication, makes it possible to incorporate AI directly into operations and processes.

“In some ways, this is the iPhone moment for robotics and Physical AI,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO, Cognizant. “Advanced vision sensors, precise positioning, low-latency secure communication and new multimodal AI innovations are the constituents that bring AI into the physical world. Over the next few years, autonomous systems are expected to move from experiments to infrastructure. As an AI builder, our role is to help embed AI-powered digital intelligence into the physical and operating layers of a business, so enterprises can direct physical action with confidence. The enterprises we serve are at an inflection point, and we have built the cognitive foundation they need to move forward.” The platform’s sovereign architecture ensures enterprises retain ownership, governance, and control of the intelligence generated, creating a continuously expanding institutional knowledge base that supports safer, more compliant, and scalable AI-driven operations.
