Data Processing Chip Startup Pliops Raises USD 100M

Pliops Ltd., a startup data center processor company, has announced that it has closed on a USD 100 million late-stage funding round to support it as it competes with industry heavyweights like Nvidia Corp. and Oracle Corp. to improve the efficiency of information processing.

SK Hynix, Lip-Bu Tan, the chairman of Walden International, State of Mind Ventures Momentum, and previous investors joined Koch Disruptive Technologies in leading the Series D round. Since its debut in 2017, Pliops has raised more than USD 200 million in total.

The company will use the funding to aggressively market its vision to clients and partners while developing its chip hardware and software in accordance with its roadmap. The business also announced that it will streamline its global operations teams in response to a shifting business environment.
