Lumen Technologies has partnered with AWS in order to offer last-mile on AWS Interconnect through the announcement of their collaboration. Through Lumen Cloud Interconnect, Lumen becomes the only network provider to offer the feature of last-mile connectivity integrated directly into AWS. With this new service, companies can make private, very fast connections between their branch offices, data centers, and AWS environments through a short, fully digital procedure that can be done even at the AWS Console and Lumen portal. Apart from getting rid of the use of several providers and the involvement of manual work in configurations, the proposal shortens the time of deployment from weeks to minutes. It also gives an opportunity to businesses to increase bandwidth as per their need without any difficulty.

The integration combines AWS’s cloud infrastructure with Lumen’s extensive network, spanning over 340,000 route miles, to create a unified connectivity experience where networking becomes an embedded cloud service. “Cloud and network infrastructure can no longer operate separately; modern applications demand they work as one,” said Jim Fowler, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Lumen Technologies. “Cloud providers are increasingly integrating connectivity as a cloud service, and Lumen’s network enables that seamless experience. Together with AWS, we’re simplifying how enterprises connect to the cloud, helping them reduce complexity, move faster and support today’s demanding applications.”
