Soracom Names Richard Halliday Chief Executive Officer

Soracom, a cloud-native IoT platform providing connectivity, cloud integration, and AI services for the Internet of Things, named Richard Halliday Chief Executive Officer, Americas. Halliday assumes the role effective June 1, 2026.

As Chief Executive Officer, Americas, Halliday leads Soracom’s business across the region, including its sales, partnerships, and technical services teams. He directs the company’s go-to-market strategy in the Americas.

Halliday brings more than 30 years of experience building and scaling technology businesses across industrial manufacturing, global distribution, and IoT connectivity. At Illinois Tool Works he held full profit-and-loss responsibility for multiple business units. He later shaped product strategy for a global distribution business with more than $1 billion in revenue at Premier Farnell. At Digi International, as Vice President of Channel Sales and Alliances, he rebuilt the company’s go-to-market model into a partner-led growth engine. Halliday joined Soracom in 2022 to lead partnerships in the Americas, later taking responsibility for all Americas sales and technical services and driving rapid growth in the region. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Colgate University.
