TrendAI™, the enterprise security solutions unit of Trend Micro Inc., has made headlines through a groundbreaking association with Anthropic. This collaboration entails the use of Anthropic’s Claude AI across TrendAI’s entire ecosystem for enabling agency, automation, and AI-driven security operations. In addition to platform developments, both entities plan to engage in groundbreaking research around threats, aimed at identifying and fixing weaknesses in AI systems before any attacks happen.
The incorporation of Claude by TrendAI will lead to the development of self-adapting security solutions, where threats are discovered faster but also acted upon.
“We launched TrendAI™ to define the AI security category. This next phase is about scaling that vision globally, with leading partners like Anthropic. Our broad, strategic collaboration across research, defense, and innovation will define how AI is secured moving forward,” said Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer, Head of TrendAI™.
A Full-Lifecycle Approach to AI Security
The collaboration spans the complete AI security lifecycle, from proactive research to global go-to-market execution. By leveraging Claude’s sophisticated reasoning capabilities, TrendAI aims to “tilt the scales” in favor of defenders in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

“For 35 years, TrendAI™ has been at the forefront of cybersecurity. By using Claude to power TrendAI Vision One™ and initiatives like TrendAI™ Zero Day Initiative™ (ZDI) and Pwn2Own, TrendAI™ is advancing the next iteration of vulnerability discovery and reporting-and tilting the scales toward defenders,” said Ash Alhashim, Head of Cybersecurity GTM at Anthropic.
Key Strategic Focus Areas:
Scaling AI Threat Research: TrendAI will expand its research into the growing AI attack surface. This includes integrating Claude into the TrendAI Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) and high-profile hacking competitions like Pwn2Own Berlin, ensuring that critical weaknesses in AI systems are identified and addressed before reaching production.
AI-Native Platform Innovation: Anthropic’s models will serve as the engine for TrendAI’s agentic workflows. By automating complex security operations and reducing “alert noise,” the platform allows security teams to act with greater precision and scale their defenses alongside their organization’s AI adoption.
Industry Engagement: Spark Leadership Exchange
The announcement precedes the Spark Leadership Exchange, where TrendAI will host over 600 cybersecurity executives in Phoenix, Arizona, this May. Leaders from Anthropic will join TrendAI on stage to share deep insights into the future of AI governance and secure autonomous environments, engaging directly with the world’s most influential enterprise security leaders.
