SAS Introduces AI Agents with Customizable Human-AI Interaction for Transparent Decisioning

SAS

At SAS Innovate 2025, SAS unveiled new AI agents built on its Viya platform, offering customizable human-AI interaction to support transparent, responsible decision-making. These agents are grounded in an agentic AI framework focused on three pillars: decisioning, human-AI balance, and governance. By combining deterministic analytics with large language models (LLMs), SAS enables its AI agents to deliver accurate, explainable outputs that comply with business rules and regulations.

The human-AI balance allows organizations to fine-tune agent autonomy based on risk and complexity, fostering effective collaboration. Embedded governance capabilities provide auditability, bias detection, and data privacy controls. “SAS’ approach to agentic AI strikes the critical balance between autonomous decision-making and ethical governance,” said Nick Patience, Vice President and Practice Lead at The Futurum Group. SAS also announced plans to expand with co-pilot productivity tools and industry-specific agents, helping enterprises adopt AI with greater speed and trust.
