Bitdefender, a leading European cybersecurity provider, has formed a strategic partnership with secunet, a specialist in digital sovereignty and critical environment protection, to offer EU-based companies fully sovereign cybersecurity solutions. Under this collaboration, Bitdefender’s GravityZone platform—covering risk management, compliance, and endpoint protection—is now hosted in the SysEleven OpenStack Cloud, a certified sovereign cloud in Germany, ensuring that all customer, configuration, security, and telemetry data remain within the EU.
The partnership addresses the growing demand for digital sovereignty among European organizations, particularly in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, education, energy, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. By keeping sensitive data within the EU, the solution helps companies meet strict regulatory requirements including GDPR, NIS2, DORA, and ISO standards.
“Companies across Europe require security solutions that provide advanced threat prevention, protection, detection, and countermeasures without compromising data sovereignty,” said Andrei Florescu, President and GM of Bitdefender Business Solutions Group. “The partnership with secunet enables precisely this, giving regulated industries the confidence they need to implement state-of-the-art cybersecurity solutions while maintaining full control over how their data is stored, processed, and secured. With GravityZone on the SysEleven OpenStack Cloud, customers can be confident that their data stays in the EU.”

The integration also enhances Bitdefender’s channel ecosystem, allowing partners and managed service providers to deploy and manage GravityZone within Germany for customers with stringent compliance requirements. The platform offers comprehensive security capabilities including endpoint protection (EPP), endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR), and cloud-native security, integrated with Bitdefender’s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services.
“With our secure and certified cloud infrastructure, we offer Bitdefender the opportunity to seamlessly deploy its field-proven cybersecurity platform,” said Andreas Rückriegel, CEO of SysEleven and VP of Cloud at secunet. “This partnership is a unique and necessary step toward greater digital resilience, enabling companies and government agencies to innovate while maintaining the highest levels of security and compliance.”
Through this collaboration, Bitdefender and secunet provide European businesses with advanced cybersecurity that is fully compliant, secure, and sovereign, supporting operational resilience and regulatory adherence across industries.
