Accenture and AI safety research laboratory Anthropic have entered into a landmark strategic partnership to establish a specialized team of embedded evaluators. Operating directly alongside Anthropic’s internal engineering units and external safety partners, the embedded specialists will perform rigorous red-teaming, execute alignment assessments, and test safety guardrails across frontier artificial intelligence models.
To support the rapid scale-up of robust AI safety infrastructure, both organizations expect to invest at least $1 billion each over the next five years, bringing the total combined commitment to $2 billion.
Leveraging Deep Technical Expertise via Faculty Integration
Accenture’s participation draws on its long-standing investments in responsible AI governance and specialized technical frameworks acquired through Faculty, a leading applied AI company. Recognized for its work in model testing and ethical AI design, Faculty brings extensive experience delivering mission-critical AI systems across government, defense, healthcare, and critical infrastructure sectors. Notably, Faculty engineered the UK National Health Service’s Early Warning System during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Accenture is bringing together a dedicated team with deep AI, security and industry expertise to work alongside Anthropic,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO, Accenture. “Safety requires both deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of how AI is used in the real world. Embedded evaluation is an emerging area and we look forward to partnering with Anthropic to help accelerate the development of embedded evaluators, which we see as an important part of the safety landscape going forward.”
Dr. Marc Warner, chief technology officer at Accenture and CEO of Faculty, added: “Faculty, which is now part of Accenture, was founded on the belief that AI should be safe by design, not safe by accident. That conviction has guided our work with governments, defense, and healthcare systems across the world. Joining forces with Anthropic as embedded evaluators is exactly the kind of work Faculty was built to do-and as part of Accenture, we have the platform to do it at a scale that can genuinely move the industry.”
Institutionalizing Embedded Evaluation at Scale
The concept of “embedded evaluators” represents an evolution in frontier AI governance. Rather than relying exclusively on post-training, external black-box testing, embedded teams gain deep access throughout the model lifecycle. This positioning enables evaluators to observe real-time development decisions, conduct early safety interventions, and refine ethical guardrails before models reach commercial deployment.
By scaling this model globally through Accenture’s enterprise platform and Faculty’s technical methodologies, the partnership establishes a scalable, repeatable blueprint for responsible AI adoption across enterprise and public sector environments.
