Bespoke Labs has announced that it has raised $40 million in total funding across its Seed and Series A financing rounds. The Series A portion was led by Wing Venture Capital (Wing VC), with participation from Mayfield, The House Fund, dbt Labs CEO Tristan Handy, and other well-known angel investors from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Meta. The Seed round was led by 8VC, with the support of Google SVP Jeff Dean, Resolve AI CEO Spiros Xanthos, DevRev CEO Dheeraj Pandey, and more. The capital will help to grow the company’s research team, develop its simulation infrastructure, and drive enterprise adoption.
Founded in 2024 by CEO Mahesh Sathiamoorthy (a Staff Software Engineer at Google DeepMind) and Chief Science Officer Alex Dimakis (a Professor of Machine Learning at UC Berkeley), Bespoke Labs has set out to solve the fundamental problem hindering broad autonomous AI adoption – consistency and safety. While modern LLM-based agents successfully perform short-term coding or customer service functions, they tend to face execution drift or error recovery issues in case of unattended operation during multi-hour and multi-day periods.
“Frontier labs, enterprises, and all organizations relying on reliable agents need access to high-quality environments,” said Mahesh Sathiamoorthy, co-founder and CEO of Bespoke Labs. “This is the critical piece needed to optimize and develop agents. That’s why we are focused on doing research around environments, building the infrastructure around environments, and building the environments themselves.”

Beyond raw environment simulation, Bespoke Labs provides data-driven evaluation tools to systematically optimize agent capabilities. The platform features advanced techniques like the Genetic-Pareto Agent Optimizer (GEPA), an evolutionary algorithm framework that automates prompt and system policy searches to maximize accuracy far more efficiently than manual prompt engineering.
“We work with labs on research programs spanning reinforcement learning, environment curation, benchmarking, and long‑horizon modeling so that environments keep pace with the frontier of agent capabilities,” said Alex Dimakis, co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Bespoke Labs. “I’m proud that we are a research lab pushing the frontier on environment infrastructure and curation.”
Bespoke Labs separates itself from traditional software vendors through its deeply technical, research-led structure, utilizing an in-house team of research scientists and engineers rather than outsourcing data creation to contractors or project managers. The company is a core contributor to Terminal-Bench, a widely cited benchmark for evaluation of agentic coding capabilities. The team is also the technical force behind OpenThoughts, an open-source reasoning dataset that has crossed 500,000 downloads and is used by elite groups including Thinking Machines Lab, Meta, and Amazon. This academic rigor informs the company’s commercial pipeline, driving novel environment curation methodologies, synthetic data generation, and exact infrastructure snapshotting to port real-world company data into safe training environments.
“As frontier labs and AI-native enterprises push the boundaries of long horizon agentic capabilities, a new generation of data and training infrastructure is required,” said Peter Wagner, Founding Partner of Wing Venture Capital. “Mahesh and Alex deeply understand the needs of leading AI researchers, and are building Bespoke Labs on a unique research-driven foundation to help advance and scale the state of the art.”
