Emerson and SiMa.ai Partner to Bring Physical AI to Industrial Edge Operations

Emerson

Emerson is collaborating with SiMa.ai, an expert in Physical AI, to embed artificial intelligence technology in its line of industrial PCs, thus allowing real-time analysis and decision-making within the industrial environment. The partnership will capitalize on the increasing trend in industrial AI at the edge, which will grow considerably as companies require intelligent decisions made locally and without any dependence on the cloud. By combining SiMa.ai’s MLSoC™ (Machine Learning System on Chip) technology with Emerson’s industrial computing infrastructure, the companies aim to support high-performance AI workloads with improved energy efficiency, low thermal impact, and enhanced on-premise data security. The solution enables manufacturers and industrial operators to move beyond monitoring toward closed-loop autonomous operations capable of instantly detecting issues, optimizing production quality, reducing waste, and improving operational efficiency.

“As operations teams leverage Physical AI at the edge, they move beyond simple monitoring to closed-loop autonomy where they can adjust processes in real time – minimizing product defects early in the production phase, reducing waste and increasing production efficiency,” said Krishna Rangasayee, chief executive officer of SiMa.ai. Emerson highlighted that the partnership strengthens its integrated industrial AI technology stack, combining smart sensors, edge computing, IIoT-ready SCADA/HMI platforms, and enterprise analytics. “As organizations accelerate their journey toward autonomous operations, the ability to deploy intelligent capabilities at the edge with industrial-grade reliability and security is essential,” said Ram Krishnan, chief operating officer of Emerson.
