Flashpoint Acquires Echosec to Develop Its Open-Source Intelligence Capabilities

Flashpoint has acquired open-source intelligence company Echosec Systems Ltd. for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will expand Flashpoint’s OSINT capabilities to enhance situational awareness on the ground, executive protection, geopolitical risk assessments, counterterrorism, misinformation and disinformation identification and response, and crisis management.

According to Crunchbase, Echosec had raised USD 11.5 million in venture capital prior to the acquisition. Espresso Capital, 3Lines, Wesley Clover, TIMIA Capital, and Alacrity Canada are among the investors.

This is Flashpoint’s second acquisition of the year; in January, the company acquired Risk Based Security Inc. for an undisclosed sum in exchange for its vulnerability and data breach intelligence services.
