Fortinet has announced a new runtime security solution named FortiAIGate, which aims to assist organizations in optimizing their AI workloads while providing adequate protection, especially with the increasing trend of using generative AI and large language models (LLMs) in the business world. With the increased use of AI in business operations, including aspects such as automation, research, and customer interactions, organizations face new security risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, model manipulation, etc., which cannot be sufficiently addressed by traditional security solutions. FortiAIGate fills this gap by providing a secure proxy that regulates all interactions between applications and AI models, including guardrails that monitor model inputs and outputs.

This solution includes features such as API Gateway, rate limiting, DDoS protection, etc., which minimize the overall risk exposure while providing adequate performance.
