Google Cloud announced the availability of Gemma 4, its most capable family of open models, on the Google Cloud platform, enabling organizations to build and deploy advanced AI applications with enhanced performance, flexibility, and control.
Gemma 4, developed using the same research foundation as Gemini models, is designed to support enterprise-grade AI use cases that extend beyond conversational applications. The models offer advanced reasoning, multimodal capabilities, and support for agentic workflows, allowing organizations to build intelligent systems that can execute complex tasks and interact with tools and APIs.
Google Cloud stated that Gemma 4 represents its most capable open model family to date, delivering high intelligence per parameter while remaining efficient enough to run across a range of environments. The models support context windows of up to 256,000 tokens, enabling deeper analysis and reasoning across large datasets.

The models also introduce native multimodal capabilities, allowing enterprises to process and analyze text, images, and audio within a single system. Additionally, Gemma 4 supports over 140 languages, enabling global organizations to deploy AI solutions across diverse markets and user bases.
Google Cloud emphasized that Gemma 4 enables businesses to balance performance with data control and compliance. Organizations can deploy the models within their own cloud environments, ensuring that sensitive data remains secure while meeting regulatory and sovereignty requirements, including support for Sovereign Cloud deployments.
Developers can access Gemma 4 through Vertex AI, where the models are available via Model Garden for direct deployment. This approach allows teams to provision custom infrastructure, manage costs, and maintain full control over model serving and scaling within their Google Cloud environments.
Google Cloud noted that the release supports a wide range of enterprise use cases, including offline code generation, complex reasoning tasks, and the development of autonomous AI agents. By combining open model flexibility with cloud-native infrastructure, organizations can accelerate innovation while maintaining governance and operational control.
