Red Hat is making additional offerings within its suite of developer products with the introduction of capabilities that have been built to cater specifically to the needs of AI agents, through the general availability of Red Hat Desktop along with improvements in Red Hat Advanced Developer Suite. This latest release is aimed at enabling developers to develop, test, secure, and scale AI agents in line with governance and consistency requirements. Red Hat Desktop will feature commercial support for the Red Hat build of Podman Desktop, thus providing a reliable platform for containerized and AI development, in addition to offering isolated sandboxing for testing of autonomous AI agents without affecting the host OS.

On the other hand, Red Hat Advanced Developer Suite will come packed with a trustworthy software factory named Red Hat Trusted Libraries, along with AI-powered exploit intelligence that analyzes the relevance of vulnerabilities of AI-generated code in context of their applicability to application runtimes. “The transition to agentic AI expands the requirements for modern application development,” said James Labocki, senior director, product management, Red Hat. “By establishing a trusted production path across the hybrid cloud with Red Hat Advanced Developer Suite and providing consistent environments through Red Hat Desktop and Red Hat OpenShift Dev Spaces, we’re helping developers accelerate and own their AI strategy with the same rigor they apply to their core IT applications.”
